Federal Accountability Act
ITO operations have been build on the principles of transparency and accountability, as outlined in the Federal Accountability Act. Through the Federal Accountability Act and Action Plan, the Government of Canada has brought forward specific measures to help strengthen accountability and increase transparency and oversight in government operations. The comprehensive Action Plan includes the Federal Accountability Act as well as supporting policy and other non-legislative measures.
Business Plan
Industry Canada’s Business Plan outlines the Department’s priorities for 2010–2011. In particular, it sets out spending and business outcomes for the year according to the three strategic objectives that comprise Industry Canada’s mandate: fostering the knowledge-based economy, advancing the marketplace and supporting business.
As part of Industry Canada's Business Plan, ITO’s Strategic Aerospace and Defence Initiative supports innovation in aerospace and defence.
